The installation of a garage top solar canopy is far more difficult than that of any ground canopy. The same goes for the engineering of these structures. The connections to the garage, as well as the analysis of the existing garage’s ability to support the canopy, add an additional layer of problems.

Our firm has designed many of these structure over the years, including in areas prone to earthquakes and hurricanes. Unlike many engineering firms that will only design the steel, our company will tackle the analysis of the existing garage too…everything you need to get AHJ approval. Additionally, during our initial site visit we can perform preliminary scanning of the concrete columns and decks for placement of reinforcing and post-tensioning cables in order to reduce redesign work in the field.
